From a young age, I’ve been intrigued by science and how it can meaningfully impact so many people’s lives. As time went on, I developed a growing passion for engineering and building. However, I knew that engineering alone can’t significantly impact the world and that creating meaningful change would require other skills as well. For this reason, the DYER Fellowship stood out to me, as it emphasizes making a meaningful impact by teaching participants how to implement their ideas. Additionally, the program’s focus on bringing together people from a wide range of majors particularly attracted me, as it allows us to learn from one another and view problems from diverse perspectives. Overall, the DYER Fellowship’s emphasis on helping others through innovation, combined with the strength that comes from people of different backgrounds working together, is the reason I wanted to be part of the Fellowship.
