I have always felt a strong desire to be involved and to work with others to problem-solve. One of the things that drew me to Lafayette was how community-based and involved the students are. I first applied for the DYER Fellowship with the objectives of meeting new people, getting involved on campus, and developing skills to meet challenges and solve problems. The more I learned about it, the more interested I became and the more I wanted to become a part of something much bigger than myself. The work done at the DYER center through the Fellowship has the potential to allow me to serve a greater community while also furthering my education. I love how this will give me an opportunity to learn outside a traditional classroom setting and give me hands-on experiences with both the Lafayette and Easton communities. Ultimately, I want to take what I have gained here at Lafayette and the DYER Center to make the world a better place and overall improve the quality of life. This program will help improve my skills so I accomplish my goals and allow me to aid the communities which have gotten me to where I am today.
