I believe one of the most important things in life is to not only be comfortable putting yourself out there and making mistakes but also being able to come back again and again until you get it right. Throughout my life this has been instilled through leadership in sports and clubs. When I applied to Lafayette and saw the opportunity to apply for the Dyer Fellowship I took it. I’d been working at Oregon State University in the Food Science Department over the last years and we had just started the brand Beaver Classic where we sell all kinds of food made on campus online and on a food truck. Since I’d started working there before we had our food truck, I got to participate in the whole process of getting our business up and running. There were many bumps in the road and mistakes were made on a daily basis but after tireless effort and teamwork by the whole crew, things finally started flowing smoothly. This was what drove me to apply to the Dyer Fellowship as I was looking for a similar group of people. I am currently planning on double majoring in Psychology and Spanish along with continuing pursuing entrepreneurship through the Dyer Fellowship and connecting with people who have similar interests.
